Description

The G64 Area Gamma Monitor is a compact, mains-powered, microprocessor-based radiation monitor, designed specifically for area and process monitoring in nuclear facilities. Its main functions are to display the gamma dose rate in the area and to warn local personnel in the event of an alarm situation. It can also function as an interlock monitor.

The G64 is intended for installed use but can also be used on a bench stand or wheeled trolley to provide temporary monitoring or to supplement permanently installed monitors during maintenance activities. The only requirements of the basic system are a G64 monitor, suitably mounted (wall mounting brackets supplied), and a mains power supply in the range 100-240 V ac.

The standard G64 is supplied with a compact solid state detector for use in low to medium dose rate applications. The detector is directly mounted on top of the display/alarm unit. For remote monitoring applications, the detector assembly can be easily dismounted from the display/alarm unit and installed at distances of up to 100 m (328 ft) using a Remote Detector Kit. The user must simply ensure that connections between the detector and the G64 display/alarm unit are correct and that the detector is mounted using the wall mounting bracket supplied.

The G64 is also available in three other versions for additional applications:

  1. G64IC: for high dose rate and high integrated dose applications. Supplied with a remotely mounted ion chamber detector, 10 m (33 ft) dual coaxial detector cable and a remote amplifier/interface unit.
  2. G64SC: intended for use with existing scintillation detectors and therefore not supplied with a detector. Scaled in cps - kcps and supplied with a remote scintillation detector amplifier/interface unit for connection to customer's own installed detector.
  3. G64GM: primarily intended for use with existing GM probes and therefore not supplied with detectors equipped with a remote GM detector amplifier/interface unit for connection to customer's own installed GM detector.

Description

CANBERRA's SafePoint AM-GP100 Area Monitor is a technological integration of CANBERRA's powerful iR7040 intelligent ratemeter, proven time-to-count GP100 Series Gamma Probe, with or without an integrated check source, and interconnecting cable in a fully calibrated, tested and ready to deploy package for your demanding radiation monitoring application. The configurable design of the AM-GP100 eliminates the need for costly customization and minimizes maintenance requirements, thus saving time, cost and radiation exposure for users. This versatile package is suitable for use in Nuclear Power Plants, Research Reactors and other facilities that can benefit from advanced radiation monitoring.

The AM-GP100 is available in conventional and SI configurations, incorporating CANBERRA's unique time-to-count GP100 series detectors. The GP100C2/GP100C2S Gamma detector incorporates an integrated (nominal) 3.7 kBq (0.1 µCi) 90Sr check source to allow performance testing of the instrument in operation without removing it from service. All span an operating range of 0.1 µSv/h to 100 Sv/h (10 µR/h to 10000 R/h).

The AM-GP100 utilizes the iR7040 advanced digital ratemeter. The Area Monitor comes standard with a single GP100 series Gamma Probe, but is designed to power and control up to four CANBERRA radiation detectors of any style or application. The iR7040 will support any reporting requirement and radiation or activity unit of measure. Its large industrial color touch-screen interface is easily readable under all conditions. An integrated termination panel makes installation and servicing quick and simple. All data is captured and stored in a 2 GB flash memory providing a complete history of all parameters, readings, alarms and functions, source check readings and calibrations. System reliability is enhanced through the iR7040's rigorous self test functionality.

  • Configuration not customization! The iR7040 set-up is performed through the on-board menu or with a PC-based utility. One hardware configuration accommodates all detectors. Configurations, once established, may be saved to a database for back-up and then used to rapidly configure a replacement should that need arise.
  • Virtual Channels. A feature unique to the CANBERRA iR series ratemeters is its virtual channel capability. The ratemeter provides up to 32 user configurable channels that can be used to marry any or all of the four probe inputs and external measurement inputs to monitor and control parameters and processes normally done through an attached control system.
  • Termination Panel. The iR7040 incorporates an integrated, deportable termination panel on the rear of the ratemeter. This unique feature speeds installation and any subsequent maintenance.
  • Unparalleled measurement and data integrity via redundant internal processing and error checking.
  • Color touch screen display, provides bright and easy to read display of ratemeter data. The touch screen interface provides a fluid, intuitive interaction without the need for another laptop to interface or the tedium of scrolling through menus.

Description

La sonde EcoGamma™-g de CANBERRA est une sonde de surveillance environnementale gamma perfectionnée, dotée de deux détecteurs et conçue pour être utilisée dans les conditions d’exploitation les plus extrêmes tout en garantissant une précision, une gamme de mesure et une stabilité inégalées. Enrichie de la longue expérience de CANBERRA dans le domaine des moniteurs de contamination environnementale, la sonde EcoGamma intègre la technique « Time-To-Count » brevetée de CANBERRA, technique de comptage avec ses détecteurs Geiger Mueller de faible et haut flux dans un ensemble garantissant une précision et une linéarité excellentes de 10 nSv/h à 10 Sv/h, une conformité H*10 et une gamme d’énergie de 30 keV à 5,0 MeV. L’ensemble est logé dans un châssis en aluminium résistant aux intempéries doté d’un indice de protection IP67 et conçu pour apporter stabilité et fiabilité dans des conditions d’exploitation exigeantes.

La sonde EcoGamma-g enregistre toutes les données, notamment celles se rapportant aux débits de dose, à l’état des détecteurs, aux taux de comptage, aux alarmes, aux défauts, etc., dans sa mémoire interne toutes les minutes et les stocke pendant 180 jours consécutifs. Les données chronologiques sont entièrement gérées par l’appareil qui veille à ce qu’elles continuent d’être collectées et stockées même en cas d’interruption de la communication avec les clients. L’application client fournie avec le moniteur EcoGamma-g est dotée de fonctionnalités permettant l’affichage et la communication de données chronologiques et actuelles sous différents formats, notamment des histogrammes et des tables. Les données chronologiques et actuelles sont également accessibles dans le cadre des opérations courantes telles que la détermination de tendances et un contrôle de la performance amélioré.
